Driftwood
Traffic pylon, plywood, paper, paint, plastic, tape
2013

This altered pylon questions the symbolism of public space, alerting us to our surroundings. What are we seeing, and what goes unnoticed? At the core of these cones is the desire to interrogate the objects that pervade and control the way we experience public space. In what ways are these symbols permeable and permutable, and how does altering the object change the meaning of the symbol?
