Documentation from the Augmented Reality project Expose, Intervene, Occupy. 2012. Exhibition of work presented in Augmented Reality for internet enabled mobile devices. The Exhibition sought to interrogate the meaning of public space using models, images, text and movies overlaid on locations in Chicago’s loop. Exhibition was funded by a Propeller Grant and presented at the 2012 University Film and Video Association in Chicago. Set in Chicago’s most grandiose and celebrated park, the altered traffic cones are part deconstructed symbols, part absurd monuments. They question the symbolism of our public space, and wryly alert us to our surroundings. What are we seeing, and what goes unnoticed?
