In False Flags, the visual language of the U.S. flag is distorted. Stripes blur together, disappearing, re-emerging, fading, and transforming. The viewer is asked to reconsider not only what they’re seeing, but what these new flags might tell us. While symbols such as the flag are often seen as immuatble, by destroying, investigating, and ultimately rebuilding this well-known emblem, I am ultimately attempting to give visual voice to the ability of a nation to change.
